SUNDAY JUNE 21:
We will depart Austintown this morning enroute to the The Hamptons, playground of the rich and famous. Our hotel for the next three nights is the Hyatt Place East End in Riverhead, New York. Our guide for the next two days is Bruce Michael, former Creative Producer of the Radio City Rockettes and long-time resident of Southampton. MONDAY, JUNE 22:
We will meet Bruce in historic Southampton Village, the oldest English settlement in New York State. Our first stop will be at Cooper’s Beach where the locals relax and enjoy swimming. Our next stop is in the heart of Southampton Village’s shopping district. The tour will then continue through – Sagaponack, Bridgehampton and East Hampton— America’s most expensive zip codes. From Steven Spielberg to Ina Garten, our guide will tell us who lives in many of the homes. Lunch will be on your own at the Historic Gosman’s Dock in Montauk Harbor. After lunch we travel to the tip of Long Island to visit the Montauk Lighthouse which dates back to the Presidency of George Washington. On the way back to Southampton we will travel through horse country, known for its sprawling horse farms, adjacent to the location of the annual Hamptons Horse Show.
TUESDAY, JUNE 23:
This morning we depart for Sag Harbor, founded in 1707 and designated by President George Washington in 1789 as an official port of entry in the United States. On our way, we will stop at Conscience Point where English settlers landed in 1640 and established Southampton. Our journey continues to Sag Harbor, where we will visit the Whaling Museum and the Old Whalers Church. Lunch (on own) will be in Sag Harbor Village where there is the largest concentration of restaurants in the Hamptons. This afternoon we will take the Shelter Island Ferry to Shelter Island where Bruce will describe the Island’s history. Later we board the North Shelter Island Ferry. We will travel through Greenport and explore Long Island’s North Fork, known for its many Vineyards and an array of unique surprising attractions. This will be a mystery tour as It wouldn’t be a surprise if we told you which attractions you will be experiencing. Dinner tonight is included at Jerry and the Mermaid, next to our hotel.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24:
After breakfast (included) we will depart for home with many wonderful memories and stories to share with our family and friends. Rest stops and a meal stop (on own) will be provided. Arrival back home will be mid to late evening.
